Research Interests:

The primary focus of my research is understanding language development in atypical populations. I am particularly interested in how family and contextual factors affect development. I am currently working on my master’s project, which focuses on gaining a better understanding of the home literacy environments of deaf and hard-of-hearing children. I am also interested in the language and literacy development of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities; specifically in fostering language eliciting behaviors in the classroom, and creating more effective home-school relationships.
