Research interests include social networks and language behavior, Spanish dialectology, linguistic variation and change, and bilingualism. Dr. Moreno also specializes in the teaching of grammar, and language instruction and language development at basic and intermediate levels. He is the author of Gramática avanzada del español (Advanced Spanish Grammar, KendallHunt 2009), a Spanish grammar manual that, used as a textbook, seeks to allow intermediate students of Spanish to attain an advanced mastery of Spanish grammar. Dr. Moreno is also working on the teaching of heritage speakers of Spanish and is currently concluding work on a placement test for native, heritage, and regular students in the advanced Spanish curriculum. Dr. Moreno is also the founder of the GSU Latino FLC, Latin American and Latino Studies Freshman Learning Community.
